Ranger program

The boys did a ranger program this morning. When they got back to the park we swam for a little while before we went out to explore the Badlands. We were really surprised at how interesting it was. These amazing formations are home to lots of fossils from many years ago. The theory is that this area was an ocean at one time and that's why they're find so much marine life. Either way, the formations, their colors and shapes are incredible to look at. We drove around and saw some wildlife(mule deer, prairie dogs and bison). We also got some great pictures.
After we drove around for a while, we realized we weren't far from Wall, SD. Kelly has been dying for another home made donut since yesterday. We drove in, had dinner and then walked around 'Wall Drug Store.'
When we got back to the park, the boys and I went over to the basketball court and played with some of the other kids. The boys played great and the other kids were very polite and a pleasure to play with. Watching Keegan and Collin play together reminded me of playing with my older brother. I loved it when Keegan made a shot and Collin gave him a high-five and said "nice shot bro!"

Hey Guys,
Just read a few posts and now I am all caught up with the Steele family travels.
I have heard nothing but incredible stories about the Badlands. Cannot wait to see your pictures. Also, the Wall Drug Store sounds like a neat place -- I have it pictured like an old fashioned five & dime with a lunch counter serving great milkshakes and greasy burgers... the food of ch... show all
