We packed much into our last day in San Francisco! The boys worked on their new "Rosetta Stone" Spanish language software this morning. This afternoon we headed into China Town for the day. I think we probably walked about 5 miles today. Considering all we ate, that's a good thing. The first stop in China Town was at the Mee Mee Bakery that made fortune cookies. They gave us a tour and showed how the fortune cookies are made. The bakery owner was very gracious and spent about 30 minutes with us. We then walked, and walked, stopping in countless Chinese stores and even one sushi restaurant so I could get some fresh salmon.

We decided to head to Little Italy for dinner. So, just as the locals do, we boarded the famous trolley and made our way there. Unfortunately, the trolley had to drop us early because of some mechanical problems. After walking several more blocks, we found a local who told us about a great spot called 'Sodini's' for dinner. There were a bunch of great restaurants and 'Sodoni's' was definitely one of them.

After an authentic Italian dinner, there was only one place to stop. You guessed it, Ghirardelli Square. As we were on our way, we happened to get a glimpse of the Bay several blocks away. We've seen pictures of the fog on the Bay, but never saw it in person. It was amazing to see what was literally a blanket of fog roll out into the San Francisco Bay. You could just see the tip of the Golden Gate Bridge above the fog. Alcatraz was barely visible except for the fog light. It was the perfect ending to out week long stay in San Francisco.

After our ice cream, we talked the trolley attendant into allowing us to ride back toward Union Square on the Hyde Street track. Our car was parked in China Town and considering how far it was and how quickly the temperature was falling, it was a great opportunity for one last trolley ride. We were again blessed with an amazing day!

Tomorrow we pack up the RV and make the two hour or so drive north to Petaluma. We're looking forward to exploring wine country for three days. -Chris

This scripture for today came to mind as the boys saw so many types of Buddha figures in China Town...

1 John 5:20-21 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
