We've been waiting to go to the best aquarium in the US and this is it....The Monterey Bay Aquarium." The boys have been to many and really didn't care to go to another, but once they got there they were thrilled. The line was way down the street just to get in because there was a cruise ship in the harbor and the Big Sur to Monterey marathon was the next day.
Keegan, Collin, and I loved the "live" presentations on "Jellyfish" and "Mysteries of the Deep" with experts talking along with amazing slides at their finger tips. The boys enjoyed the touch tanks the most with sea stars, anemones, sea cucumbers, abelones, and talking with the docents. We also saw the sea otter presentation. The jellyfish tanks are amazing. They have so many different species and are so fun to watch, especially the ones that light up with their bioluminescence attributes.
On the way home to the Marina Dunes RV Park, we were on a hunt for a "waveboard" for Keegan. He has been reading every book he can to earn money to buy one....$3-$5 per book. After going from store to store for over an hour and a half, we finally found a "Ripstick" at Walmart within his reading money budget. Keegan was the happiest kid in the world learning to ride it while Collin tried to run into him with his scooter. He worked so hard for the crazy skateboard and it was so much better to see him earn it rather than buy it for him as a gift. Chris stayed back at the RV today cleaning, doing laundry, catching up on life stuff and greeted us with cheese, crackers, and wine by the campfire when we got home. He thought he'd get some beach time today, but the clouds rolled in and put a damper on that. We had a great time hanging out together by the fire while the boys played. We're on the go so much, they love their play time at the RV parks. -Kelly
