The dutch village of Solvang

We decided to pull out of El Capitan state park a day early. We weren't crazy about the park. Our stop today was Solvang, CA. It's a dutch village that is full of great bakeries and wine tasting shops.(needless to say, we split up when we got there.ha-ha) Our first stop was a bakery that we were told was the 'best' one in the village. It was pretty amazing, even I must admit. Kelly and the boys had to hit at least one more before we left town. While they were there, I hit a couple of wine tasting shops(tried a couple of amazing Pinot Noirs). I found out Solvang was the town the award winning independent film, 'Sideways' was shot. When I heard that I remembered seeing alot of the places we had been in. All of the architecture is obviously dutch and very authentic.

We made a couple of other stops while in town We visited a 'miniature horse' farm. They were amazing and a few of them had newborns running around. The boys loved it and of course wanted to know if we could get one. Kelly and the boys also stopped at an 'Ostrich/Emu'  farm. I missed out on this stop because I was moving the RV.

Afterwards, we hooked up the car and continued up the PCH to Pismo Beach. The weather was phenominal today and it was a beautiful drive.(about 75 degrees and sunny) We arrived at the park in Pismo around 6pm. It's right on the beach and much nicer than our last stop.(part of life in an RV) After we got set up, we took a walk around to check everythig out. We got some incredible pictures out on the beach as the sun was setting. We'll spend a couple of days here and it looks like it's going to be great.
