It's a perfect summer day in Park City! What an awesome day it was to go on a biking trip. We hooked up with our guide Lauren for a biking history tour of Park City. White Mountain Tours drove us in a van to Deer Valley where our downhill biking experience began.

We made several stops along the way to learn about the history of silver mining, what life was like for the miners, and saw some of the original miner's homes that are presently inhabited by squatters living in them now for free. We were amazed at how cold the mine shaft area was at ground level and how they took horses and mules down there to work for months at a time.

Collin's favorite stop was by one of the inns for some cookies on our way down "Highway to Heaven." This is now Park Avenue, but it is the street where most of the churches were and many still are located. Our tour ended with a little off road biking...the boy's favorite part on the way to the historic cementary. Just looking at the tombstones told us alot about the people who were here when Park City was founded.

There are currently about 7,500 residents and back in the silvermine days there were up to twice that many people living there. There's still alot of silver in the land we were told, but the land is more valuable for real estate.

After our tour and lunch, we looked all over town for good deals on ski outfits for Keegan and Collin since it's off season. We found some 50% off sales, so they're set for when the snow starts falling. We should be back in November...we can't wait!
