Today class was held at the 'USS Midway.' The longest serving naval ship in history was more than 4 acres large. The tours were given by US Navy officers who detailed how the fighter jets catapult off of the vessel at around 175mph. With 2200 support officers for 200 pilots, a jet can be sent off every 35 seconds. Of course, the boys had to bring something to remember the experience. They got a 'WWII Fighter Plane' excavation kit. One of their friends here at the RV park had one the other day and they had a great time with it. You actually dig the plane's pieces out of this block of clay and then glue it together.(why didn't I think of that?)
When they got home Collin went to work on the fighter plane. Keegan has been wanting a little one on one time with dad so he and I went down to the park to throw. Actually I have him run patterns and he gets some kind of reward for every ball he catches.(today it was Skittles) He has some real potential for cavities.
We had to get our 'Outback' fix so we found one for dinner. But the bast part of the evening was the purchase of my new gas grill. Our neighbor here had this great Coleman gas grill that folds up for easy storage. Although Kelly and the boys are not opposed to eating out every night, I hate it. It is much easier to eat healthy(and cheap) at home. We tried cooking steaks the other day on the stove, because the oven wasn't working.(I think Kelly sabotaged it)
