Today we celebrated Mothers Day by first going to church at Calvary. We found the church coming home from our late night of bowling. The message was very good and the praise and worship reminded us how blessed we are at Christ Fellowship.(as if we needed reminding) After church, we took Kelly to 'Jerry Bobs' for breakfast. Although the boys were lobbying hard for Denny's, Mommy prevailed.
Our plan was to then head to Tombstone. We stopped at the RV to change and let Riley out. It was so hot out, we almost decided to stay home and swim. But we are only here for a few days so we made the 1 hour trip. The movie 'Tombstone' with Kurt Russel and Val Kilmer is one of my favorites. I let the boys watch it the other night, so they also had an appreciation for what we saw. It was easy to get a sense of the 'town too tough to die.' After going up in flames twice, it was quickly rebuilt. The dusty saloons and the infamous 'Crystal Palace' made it easy to imagine the days of the shoot out at the 'OK Corral.' After a tour or two and checking out worlds largest rose tree(incredible), we made our way back home.
Because it was Mothers day, we stopped at Dairy Queen on the way. When we got back the boys swam and I cooked dinner. I BBQ'd chicken on the grill and then swam with the boys for a while. Even though it is extremely hot during the day, it is great at night.
