We left camp this morning for a couple of days.(We are on our way to the Grand Canyon) After we got everything buttoned up at the RV we got on the road to Williams, AZ. It was a beautiful drive through the canyons. The boys watched 'The Alamo' with John Wayne as we drove. It's amazing how much more interested you are in a subject once you have witnessed it in person. I was just happy they got to see 'The Duke' in action. Although, I wasn't quite sure it was a good idea when Collin stopped the movie to ask if "Damn Fool" was okay to say.

We made an interesting stop along the way at an old ghost town called Jerome. Although it was a ghost town many years ago when the mine was no longer viable, it is now on the national historic registry. By the early 20th century it was the richest copper mine in the world until the depression. They mined over a billion dollars in copper in addition to many other minerals.(see pics) Eventually people began moving back and it is now a tourist destination. We saw all kinds of other minerals that were mined and also toured what was the home of James Douglas, who owned the Little Daisy Mine. The home, now a museum, was built for mining officials and investors.(I am starting to feel like Cliff Claven)

We had lunch at the Haunted Hamburger which had an incredible view.(elevation 6,000ft)

We continued on to Williams, stopping to take some pictures for you along the way.(see pic) We'll stay the night in Williams and in the morning board a train for the Grand Canyon. We are planning to stay one night at the Grand Canyon and heading back to the RV on Monday.
