Greetings from the high desert of Arizona! After we homeschooled this morning, we set out for the PHX airport to pick up Chris. What an incredibly beautiful hour and a half drive it was south on I-17 to Phoenix. The boys and I stopped at a scenic overlook for a look and a picture. It was a little hazy, but an amazing wide angled view of the desert mountains.
Wow! We saw the saguero cactus for the first time. All of a sudden you're driving and go from seeing none to seeing them in every direction you look. The boys were amazed by how tall they were. There is something really amazing about seeing cactus as big as trees.
As we drove into the Phoenix area my excitement grew. We can't wait to be adventurers in Phoenix in a couple weeks with my mom. Chris' plane was late and we headed for Outback Steakhouse before heading back north again to the campground.
