We made our way down to Albuquerque from Sante Fe today.(about 50 miles) We took the 'Turquoise Trail,' the scenic route. I drove the RV on to Albuquerque and Kelly and the boys took their time and made a few stops. They visited the Coal Mine Museum where they saw lots of relics from the 60's.(see pic) The town was deserted several years ago before people began to come back. Today, it is a tourist destination.

We got set up at the 'American RV Park' around 6:00pm. After we got cleaned up we headed to 'Old Town' and downtown. Other than some protesters driving around honking their horns the streets were virtually empty. The wind was also picking up, so we grabbed dinner and called it a night.

We did see several places to take the boys in the next couple of days. Albuquerque has a great kids interactive museum, zoo and parks. Albuquerque definitely doesn't have the charm Sante Fe had. We will only be here for a few days and I'm sure we'll be busy.

Hey Guys,

Never been to Santa Fe, but am guessing that it does more to offer than Albuquerque.

Coal Mine sounds like an interesting place to tour. Several travels I have seen tours available for various mining places, but never stopped to tour. Always thought it would be neat to ride one of the coal cars into the heart of a mine. Kind of looks like a fun ride!
