Another Beautiful day in Sante Fe. We heard from several people that the weather here had not been lousy before yesterday. You'd never know it since we got here. Today it was in the mid 70's and sunny.

We watched our churches service(Christ Fellowship) on-line this morning and then hit what we were told was a great local breakfast spot. The food was just as good as we were told. Sante Fe is full of great art and there is one area, called 'Canyon Road,' where most of the galleries are so we headed there after breakfast. There was every kind of art you can imagine. There were even these horse sculptures made from metal, cement and horse hair.(see pic) We only saw a portion of the galleries because we had told the boys they could use their allowance $$ to buy a couple of hand-made necklaces they had seen yesterday.

After they got their necklaces we saw some police cars stopping traffic. It looked like a parade coming down the street, but it was actually a HUGE group of Mexican Indians protesting against the immigration laws. There had to have been a thousand of them. Several were in full head-dress.(see pic) I wouldn't have minded the march so much if I wasn't trying to get to the Starbuck's at the other end of the block.

Sante Fe has great museums also so we took the boys to the 'kids museum.' As you can see, they loved it.(see pics) They both got to rock climb and Keegan painted his face. Collin really likes rock climbing, but he didn't want his picture taken because as you will see, the only shoes they had for him to wear were pink. He wasn't happy about it, but it didn't slow him down. They love these types of museums and they are very educational.

This week I have to fly back to Florida to work. Tomorrow we'll head an hour south to Albuquerque where I fly out of. We were going to stay another night in Sante Fe, but I want to have a few days there before I leave. This will be my only opportunity because when I come back next week I fly into Phoenix. Kelly and the boys will drive from New Mexico to Arizona while I am gone.

I was in Alba. overnight about a year ago... not much to see in that town! Nearly missed my plane the next day as I got turned around on the major interstate while driving and chatting on my cell phone.

Funny thing... I stayed at The Sheraton and first room they sent me to had not been cleaned. I complained because some guys Starwood card was left in the dresser wi... show all

Hey Guys,

First, Collie... I love those pick shoes! My sister would love to know who makes those as she could wear them to her next Mary Kay sales meeting!

Enjoyed reading the post. Glad the boys had the opportunity to see American democracy at its finest. Being able to witness a protest is always interesting and educational as you bother to read about the issues and try to u... show all
