Thank you Sam Walton. After we woke up from a good night sleep at the 'Wal-Mart Inn,' we got on the road.(the boys were still in bed) It was a little chilly last night. I had to turn the heat on in the night because everyone was cold.(the thermostat in the RV read 58 degrees)

The terrain in New Mexico is pretty much what I've seen in pictures, but we were amazed to drive almost 200 miles today and see nothing but a few towns that looked deserted. It wasn't until we got out of the flat lands and into the mountains of Sante Fe, that we began to see some life. We were elated to reach the capital of New Mexico. I can see why people like it here so much. The first thing you notice are all of the 'adobe' style homes and buildings.

After we got set up at the RV park we had to find a good Mexican restaurant. We had lunch at 'Thomasitas.' A little different than 'Los Barrios' in San Antonio, but just as authentic. All I can say is they had some HOT salsa! The boys have a new Mexican favorite. It is the sopaidilla. They loved the fried dough pockets.(see pic) They said they tasted like a funnel cake without the sugar. They were even more excited to learn the honey on the table was supposed to go inside the Sopaidilla.

After lunch we went into the old downtown to walk. The weather was perfect.(about 60 degrees and sunny) There were lots of shops and several Native American Indians selling jewelry and other hand-made goods. Believe it or not, the boys really enjoy doing things like this.(see pic) I think it is probably because Kelly has tried to expose them to art and art classes that they have an appreciation.

I found a place to work out while Kelly and the boys did some more sight seeing. They visited St. Francis Cathedral which dates back to the 1600's.(see pic) They also visited the 'Institue of American Indian Arts Museum.'(see pic)
