The boys made some new friends today at the park. Luke, Andrew and Ben were from Indianapolis and were camping(with a tent) with their mom, Anne. Anne home schooled her boys, so of course Kelly hit it off with her. They swam and played most of the morning until the family had to leave. After Keegan and Collin finished their school work we went down to River Walk and had lunch at 'The Rainforest.'
You can't come to San Antonio without visiting 'The Alamo.' We saw the movie at the IMAX last night in preparation for todays visit. It was amazing to learn just how bad James Bowie, Davie Crockett and about 150 rebels were massacred by General Santa Ana and about 3,000 of his men. The rebels were incredibly brave and have inspired generations to come. You get a real feel for the battle as you walk through the grounds of the Alamo.(See pic) There are many items on display that were originals. The boys did their best Davie Crockett imitation in the gift shop.(see pic) I used to have my own 'Crockett cap' when I was a little younger than Collin.
We walked around downtown and the River Walk for a couple of hours before heading back to the RV.(see pic) We decided to make it an early evening. We came back and the boys and I played basketball while Kelly talked with a couple from California. Today, 'The Chronicles Of Narnia' came out on video. Keegan and Collin have only seen it about 3 times so Keegan bought it with money he saved up. We ordered pizza and wings and watched the movie. More thumbnails ...

Alamo Sounds Great! (reply) Apr 5, 2006 19:48 EST by benstar3
Hey Guys,
Wish I could have toured The Alamo with you all... sounds fascinating. During my time in San Antonio, I never had the opportunity to tour. Actually, my family & I were too busy eating our way thru the Mexican food in the Riverwalk area!
Not much new in WPB today. Just finished a small roundtable meeting with Tom Gallagher. He was 'on' today. Pretty impressive act... show all
