We started our day with a drive to the closest MBTA station, referred to as the "T" by those in the know! We caught the train into Boston, at $5.00 round trip it was quite the deal. We exited at Park Street which put us out right at Boston Common and the Freedom Trail visitor center. This trail is marked by a red line of brick or paint. It travels 2.5 miles, one way and passes 16 historic sites. We would spend all day following it, taking in the history as we went along. There really is nothing like getting out and walking in the footsteps of history! We even managed to find our way back to the "T" station and made our way home on the blessedly air conditioned train!
