Iris explained that the first year was complimentary with the purchase of a new coach and that we should think about giving it a try - she's a pretty good pitch person! In order to join the BAC we first had to become members of the Family Motor Coach Association ( FMCA.com) This is an organization made up of owners of motorcoaches - no trailers allowed. We were familar with them but had never joined.
Well, needless to say, we joined both the FMCA and the BAC, and we haven't looked back. The FMCA has some unique benefits available to members - you can check them out at FMCA.com - and we feel we get our monies worth out of this organization with our yearly fee. Once you are a member of the FMCA you have access to hundreds of clubs. These range from geographic specific clubs to interest related clubs to manufacturer clubs - like the BAC.
We have found the BAC to be a great group of people. We all have RV'ing in common to begin with and we all own Beaver Motorcoaches. The BAC runs a forum in which members can ask questions related to travel, problems with their coaches or just general 'stuff'. They also host dozens of rallies all over the country every year which are open to members and FOB's ( friends of Beavers...) In fact, the BAC host so many rallies that some members travel from one to the other over the course of a season. We tend to go to 2-3 a year when they happen to be in an area we are headed to.
So, here we are in Bodega Bay with Larry & Sue Anderson - new Beaver coach owners and new BAC members! We are here for the W(h)ining & Crabbing rally which is being hosted by BAC members Jim & Natasha Nichols. As with most small rallies - this rally has 14 coaches -the hosts are familiar with the area and are wanting to share it with other members! I don't think this is an area we would have every thought about coming to on our own - so the rally is already a success in our opinion!
