We  spent the last five days taking in the beauty of Banff & Jasper National Parks located within the Canadian Rockies.  Our travels took us from the city of Golden along Highway 1 ( the Trans-Canada highway ) into the Lake Louise section of Banff.  We spent a very enjoyable three days at a campground within the National Park making day trips to the various sections of this most beautiful of Parks.

From Lake Louise we headed out the Icefields Parkway - also known as Highway 93.  This scenic drive connects Banff to Jasper National Park.  We would take two days to 'do' the drive opting to spend the night in the parking lot of the Columbia Icefields visitor center ( don't miss the picture of our camping spot - you should quickly understand why we chose to stay! )

We arrived in the town of Jasper early today, set up camp and spent the remainder of the day taking in the sights.  You could easily spend weeks or months exploring these amazing, scenic parks and we may decide to do so at a later date.  For now we have just scratched the surface.....
