Just before we pulled out of Collier Memorial State Park it began to snow! Fortunately it didn't last long and we headed north on dry roads. After a short 40 miles, in which we let Larry lead, we pulled in for our first of what will be many fuel stops.
Back on the road a short time later we continued on another 60 miles. We pulled into a truck weigh station. Now, here in Oregon, the stations are 'on' all the time. So even when they are not staffed the scales work, so you can weigh your vehicles free of charge. We had also made arrangements to have some friends who live up here meet us for a quick visit.
Once the weighing & visiting was done we sent the Andersons's off to Beaver Coach Sales & Service. They had made arrangements to have a faulty leveling jack taken care of first thing tomorrow morning. The Bell's headed into town for a quick shopping trip. That left the Stewarts & us.
Now is when the day got interesting! Jack went to start his coach and nothing happened. Well, actually all the dash lights & buzzers went off but the coach wouldn't turn over. After trying a couple of times the decision was made to call out a mobile repairman - yes, our third mobile call out in four days!
Long story short, the mobile repairman was able to get the coach started but unable to get it to move. Eventually a big rig tow truck was called and the coach was towed in to Beaver Coach Sales & Service. That's right, the same place Larry & Sue have their appointment in the morning.
All of us are actually here - the Bells & us are parked in the overflow parking lot and will be running our generators most of the night since the low will be down around 28 degrees! As I write this we still have no real idea what is wrong with the Stewarts coach, we are hoping it is a simple problem with the starter! Our hope is to be back on the road north sometime tomorrow afternoon...hope is a good thing. I just hope we aren't being delusional!
