The conversation went a little like this:

Henk & Betsey:  We are going to Mexico this Spring, want to join us?
Ken:  YES!!!!
Me:  Well, when you say spring, what time frame are you talking about?
Henk & Betsey:  sometime in early April
Me:  we are going to be in New Orleans with some friends and can't really change our plans.
Ken:  yes we can...I want to go to Mexico.
Me: No, Ken, everyone has already made reservations and plans we can't really change that now.
Ken:  But, I want to go to Mexico...
Henk & Betsey:  what if we put off for a few days the date that we leave.....
Ken:  that would be great - we'll just leave New Orleans a few days earlier than we planned on.
Me:  NO, I'm not leaving our friends a minute earlier than I have to!
Ken:  But I want to go to Mexico.....

So, after alot of compromising as well as give and take we stayed in New Orleans with our friends like we had planned.  The group we are going to Mexico with delayed their departure by a few days to enable us to drive the 1300 miles back to Arizona.

We left Bayou Segnette State Park early on Saturday morning and drove 630 miles that day.  After a good nights sleep in a rest stop outside of Kerrville, Texas we drove another 480 miles to El Paso.  1110 miles in two days was enough - so we have given ourselves a day off to sleep, play golf, shop and clean.  We hit the road again in the morning for the last 240 miles.

April 22 will find us and 3 other couples headed south of the border for another adventure.  We will be spending about 6 weeks taking in the sights along the Pacific coast of Mexico.  We will post when we can so check back frequently!
