We have wrapped up our time in the Bay Area.  If we missed you this visit we will be back in July so hopefully we will be able to catch you then. Christmas day found us making one last drive into Livermore to pickup the little people along with a couple bags full of their 'loot'.

We arrived back at the coach, off loaded everything and hit the road.  Alyssa was given the responsibility of being navigator for the first part of the drive - she did a fine job directing us southbound along Highway 5.

At about 7 pm we pulled off the highway and into the truck stop at Wheeler Ridge, which is at the foot of the Grapevine.  The place was practically deserted so we were able to slide out all four slides and set up 'camp'.  After a good nights rest we headed south once again - this time with Alicia doing the navigating

Now, Alicia's job was a little more daunting since she had to help Papa through the Los Angeles basin.  Fortunately she had Lola - our handy GPS and Papa's familiarity with the area.  At about 1 pm we pulled into Catalina Spa RV Resort in Desert Hot Springs.

We'd been promising the girls that they could go swimming when we got here and they didn't seem to care or mind that it was a bit on the chilly side!  So, after a quick set up we headed out to the pool.  After a couple of hours burning off all that energy it was back to the coach for a quick dinner and a good nights sleep!
