Howdy men and women of the homestead,

First entry proper so we'll do our best to fill you in on what's been going on. Firstly the trip has been amazing so far, we're with a cracking bunch of people and great first step of our travels.

We've done and seen loads mainly in Tanzania as Kenya was just the starting point really, we've done a couple of walks round some of the villages, met the locals etc, in fact just got back from a 5 hour hike around the villages in the Asumbura Mountains. In one of the villages we drank the local tipple Banana Beer (twas not a Carling Cold but ok none the less), met local artists, gone in to schools and childrens homes and seen some really interesting stuff. The people here are great, very friendly and the kids are wicked, though no chance of us doing a Madonna and keeping one! We have lots of views of Kilaminjaro and whilst I now appreciate the feat it was for Joe to climb it, I will say that one of the older ladies in our group is doing it next week, so how hard can it be!

The evenings have been relaxed and usually involve drinking a few Tuskers (a genuine rival to Carling) and chilling out. One night though some local acrobats and dancers came to our camp and put on a hell of a show, lets just say you haven't been really entertained until you've seen a man put out fire with his testicles!!!

Highlights of the trip so far have without doubt come on our 3 day game drive through the Serengetti and Ngorogoro Crater. Our first view looking into the crater is one of those once in a lifetime moments and words can't do justice to the stunning beauty of the place, really staggering. We saw all the 'Big 5' and Lions cubs and Leopard cubs literally a foot from our truck, it's such a great place so much wildlife, didn't see a kill but did see some cubs munching on a wilderbeast. At night we camped in un-fenced campsites on the reserve and had Lions and Hyenas walking through the camp at night, it's not too bad but going for a jimmy riddle in the night was not really an option!!!! Our driver was a local guy called, 'Harry" he was wicked too and really knowledgable, was good fun to be able "Oi, H slow down, Elephant on the left". Just such a great 3 days and anyone thinking of doing this should get cracking on it because it is so so good.

Haven't managed to watch the Yids yet but am ever hopeful and presumably my fantasy team is plummeting like a stone. I am actually quite distured by the amount of Gooner stuff i've seen, today I even walked past the Arsenal grocery in the middle of the mountains! Though I must say that our place here has got a Spurs calender on the wall.

That's it in a nutshell, I haven't really done justice at all to the things we've done but then what would I have to talk about when I got home. Hope all is well back in blighty or wherever you are reading this. I can't add photos from this computer but will try and add some next time around, Gaysie got some lizard shots for you pal so saty posted. Take care y'all and we'll speak to you later.

Chris and Kelly.

Spurs vs Woolwich Wanderers
Alright mate, Kels. Sounds pretty wild out there. Same old, same old back here. The spurs vs Woolwich wanderers finished 0-0. Eboue got sent off after 30 mins... should have smashed them. Keane put a header over the bar amongst others... But modric should have sealed the win in the 93rd minute. Clean through on goal, should have chipped it. Bill Benit breathed a sigh of relief as the only gooner in the club was sitting with me, stump, wayne penfold, turner and turners dad! (I know what was he doing there). All yids! Anyway stay lucky! Put some pictures on if you can.
