Leave out of Playa del Coco at 10:00 am and immediately change buses in Liberia at 11:30 am. I'm walking around the bus station for San Jose buses, which is a couple of blocks from were the 1st bus drops me off. A guy begins to wave me towrd the bus so he can load my crap under the bus storage comprtment. I tell the fella, I have no bus ticket yet and wht do I do next? he tells me to pay the guy checking tickets $5.00. Ok, cool. I jump on board and get one of few seats left and its by the window.  I need it for air, not sightseeing. There is no such thing as an air conditioned bus down here unless it is a private.

I'm going to scope out an apartment in town with all the goodies for living cheaper than full time at the beach.  Founded in 1738, San Josť is one of the youngest capitals of Latin America by its year of foundation, though it was not named capital until 1823.  At an elevation of 3,809 feet above sea level. The city has a distinctively different climate from the lower beach regions. It is known as the city of eternal spring. Almost 2/3 of Costa Ricas 3 million inhabitants reside in and around the metroplitan San Jose area. Iam going to check out an apartment that is only $450.00 per month which boils ddown to 15 bucks a day. Not a hostel, but real apartments, with a gym, WIFI, phone, private kitchen, private bath and dinning room. I can use it as a base for exploring beaches and other countries for the weekends or 3 day trips.
I take in alot of scenery and talk to my neighbor sitting next to me. He asks me in Spansih if I speak english and I tell him. Yo hablo espanol. He looks surprised, but impressed and thus ensues a rather lengthy on and off discussion about most traveller/local subject matter. His name is Nelson. A father of 2 girls, 3 months & 6 years and married for 8 years. He enlightens me on the economic circumstances he faces as a young father and the various perceptions he has of the US and Puerto Rico. Life is not easy for alot of people here, but they maintain a positive and cheery outlook on life and foreigners.
6 hours later we pull into San Jose but before we reach the bus terminal, he offers me his cell phone number in case i want to go otu or need any questions answered. You gotta love these people. We get off the bus and the Bus driver asks for my ticket. I tell him, I paid his buddy at the bus station. He asks me again where my ticket is and I say I paid and its ot going to happen again. turns out his buddy pocketed the money and didnt cut him in on it and he thought I was stupid enough to pay him also.

I dont know the inner city bus to take, so I reluctantly ask a taxi driver if he knows where the Vista Lind Apartments on Calle Blanco and El Encanto are? he says yes and off we go liar. We finally find the place fter he pulls over to ask a minimum of 10 times and three real cool Flavellas. At first he tells me $5.00 then $8.00. I'm like dude, "if you will jst fucken get me to the plce, I'll give your sorry butt. $10.00
turns out, he is not officially liscened. He is a pirate taxi. I could have got robbed if i didnt know spanish. But, the bastard got me to the apartments and I gave him the money and told him to fuck off.
The owner carlos told me it should have only been 3 or 4 dollars. To use his phone to call for the right price next time. Live and learn. Dont trust taxi drivers. They tell ya there is no buses running or they are full or its dangerous to walk and in some cases it is. just to get that mighty buck from a tourist.

Anyways, the place is great for  the money. I have a great view from the back window of the surrounding mountains and nice balcony view of the manicured court yard and fauna flora. I take the next two days off from partying & moving inorder to rest, work out, get caught up on research and Internet maintenance.

Tomorrow its time to start scouting out San Jose and planning a trip to the beach this weekend. Its hard beng me...LMFAO
