I'm sitting by myself waiting for Carol, a girl met on the bus and 2 hot hookers ask me if I need a girlfriend for the night. Here we go again. I ask them how much out of sheer curiosity. I get offered another 2 for 1 deal. $100.00 !
I wait for Carol ( who never shows up or gets lost ) She didnt have a phone and I cant get one. It sucks not having a cell phone or being able to get one because the govermnet still operates a monopoly on cellular services
several occasions in recent years, cell phone demand has outstripped
supply, resulting in phone line shortages and long lines when new lines
finally become available. Proponents of opening the Costa Rican
Electricity Institute's (ICE) telecom monopoly have argued the long
lines will disappear once the market is open to competition. So, even though I brought an unlocked cell phone. I cant purchase or rent SIM card inorder to stay in touch with peeps round here. Urrgh..
I talk to a bunch of random locals while I observe old fart gringos solicit prostitutes. Its funny, because these old timers couldnt get laid by these hoes if it wasn't for their fat wallets.
I end up staying at a nice hotel ( $50.00 per night ) but, I finally have all the american standards and free International calls, WIFI and hot water !!, so I am not complaining. I get up early and head for the beach in the morning. It's not fair to say that it is an ugly beach, but it's not even close to Samara or Carillo although it is tranquil and the waves are decent. I sit there for about 5 hours enjoying the moment while procrastinating the next move and I get pretty toasted by the sun, but I like it. I'm getting very dark.
I'm already planning to get the heck out of dodge and find an affordable place to chill, regroup and continue the amazing journey I am currently living.
I am going to Playa del Coco and then San Jose to find a better deal on living quarters. This place sucks unless you like over priced hookers, hustlers, drugs & crowds. Sad, but true
