Lion around in Jo'Burg
Tuesday 17th February - Admin day in J'burg
Today was spent simply running around the city sorting out a few bits of shopping and getting all the US dollars that we needed for our trip, a hectic but essential day.

Wednesday 18th February - Lion park
Two of the girls from our trip, Phillipa and Hannah had decided to return to the Lion Park where they had previously volunteered to spent a few more weeks this time.  We offered to drive them out there and save on the taxi fare with the intention of having a look around if it was not too expensive.  When we arrived the owner gave us a free ticket to the park, which was a nice surprise.  So we began by heading straight for the Lion Cub area where we were fortunate enough to be able to enter their cage and get close to them.  They were a few months old, but already quite large and capable of giving quite a nip, as Phillipa found out.  We fed a Giraffe and were very entertained by it's long black tongue that it used to curl around the fed and drag it into it's mouth.  Later we found ourselves driving around the Lion camps including one which contained a pride of rare White Lions, which are bred here.

After lunch we left and headed back to J'Burg dropping our hire car off on the way.  After a long argument about the price we settled on what we thought we were quoted and were given a lift back to the Ritz hostel.
