This day we left for a boat trip through the Mekong Delta, staying on the boat for one night.
Boat trip through the trading floating village, seeing candy and rice paper being made. A canoe through the canels of the mekong which really reminded us of the back waters in India. Lunch and a quick bike ride to work it off. Bus to the large boat where we were to sleep as it went down the river - not before a quick stop at the market for some supplies.
We spent most of our time here with some welcome and slightly more senior! company in the form of a couple from New Zealand; Peter and Carol(e) and Australia; Shane and Robyn (Melbourne). Alex stayed up late sorting out the politics of SE Asia, NZ, Oz and the UK with the chaps, a busy evening so a lot of beer was required, but I think we did OK!
7th June Early 6am start to visit fishing villiages in a smaller boat and a 2h30mins ride to the Vietnam border, lunch and then a walk out of Vietnam to another small boat to the Cambodian border to get a stamp in the passport.
Then another 2h30min boat ride up through to our stop off and then a bus into Phnum Penh.
The guys had booked us accomodation as they were a day ahead of us.
