Where I stayed
So far I have to say that the soccer has been so tight and conservative that the games have generally lacked excitement. Much of the quality of play has been disappointing as well with scores of shots missing targets and goaltending bungles all over the place. But before we jump to any conclusions, I think this type of play is somewhat expected at the beginning of any big cup. I think that we'll get some more class and drama as this thing unfolds.
But speaking of some good drama, let me kick y'all some clutch links to entertain and captivate:
Legos make everything better:
Tim Howard and Gael Garcia Bernal are bound to star in the next Y tu Mama Tambien:
Best video of the bunch:
After a weeks worth of stodgy British commentators, we had to admit their wealth of funny expressions have been a treat. Too good when teams get themselves into a "spot of bother," or players dribble into "cul-de-sacs." And when you get commercials of Eric "Whynalda" Wynalda hawking Britannia Arms, it feels like we have all our bases covered.
We will try to clean out our Felton house today and move on out. Its been an up and down ride up there, but there is definitely nostalgia about moving out of this house (for a second time). Next stop Los Angeles and some Tarasco beer and horchata to get this cup spiced up a bit.
