Now that we have given back the three hours that we gained in the long journey across this great nation, we realize two things.  First, just how far it is from one coast to the other.  And second, just how good it is going to feel being home again.

This trip wound up taking just three and a half weeks.  With an original plan of up to two months, it seems on paper, or on the computer actually, and in our minds..........to have taken a very long time having been only three and a half weeks.  It seems like a long time since we have seen home.  It seems like a very long time since the first stop in Asheville, NC to view the Biltmore mansion.  It seems like we have experienced a lifetime of views in an actual short period of time.  We have seen some of the most wonderful aspects of this great nation, even though we did not see everything we set out to see.  We believe the time aspect is as a result of having done so much in such a small period of time.  To bunch everything we have seen into a small package of time actually serves to create the illusion of expanding the time frame.  Especially for typical hermit types such that Rhonda and I have become.

That being said, it was nice to see the old style mountains again (we probably live in the new style mountain area considering the Rockies) and the colors that present themselves in our neck-o-the-woods, in this Spring time environment.  It's also nice to be back in an area of the country that we can very much relate to the down country Southern twang in the speech patterns.

Another nearly 500 miles today, and only appx. 450 to go tomorrow.  Another traffic jam outside Knoxville today, for two days in a row of shut down stopped traffic.  This one was due to our third accident viewed on this nearly 7500 mile journey.

Just a few pics posted for tonight.  Tomorrow, H O M E ! ! ! ! !
