Wednesday we went on another short hop via the Bay Bridge into Annapolis (you would be amazed at the size of some of the bridges we have crossed) Annapolis is really nice full of little shops & pavement cafes, very much a place where you can walk around.Many old buildings We went on a jolly trolley tour around the city. I have forgotten most of what the guide said except Annapolis was named after Princess Anne. The streets are twisty & not like the gridded streets you find in most towns & city's here. All in all a very good place to visit
Thursday we were again going on a short hop to Alexandria it was supposed to take 40 mins

. but there was major traffic works on the highway. Plus sat nav woman was a very naughty girl, in fact she was a pain in the ass. From Annapolis to Alexandria you have to cross The Woodrow Wilson Bridge (yes another one) we crossed it once then commands from sat nav woman guide us back over. (We realized what was happening but could do nothing about it ) Back into the traffic jam finally made it to Alexandria only to find we couldn't get a hotel room (apparently this is their busiest time conferences etc. } We finally found a room in a hotel in Mt. Vernon three & a half hours & a few naughty words later!!! expensive & no smoking Reg might be in for a bad night Sylv.(what a bloody morning !!!.If I hadn't been driving I'd have hit the bottle.Reggiebaby)
