The most amazing 8 hours anyone could spend in a bus... from the high altitude of LaPaz through the Andes stopping at the Bolivian/Chilean border high in the mountains.

It would have to be the most beautiful border crossing in the world!  Snow capped mountains with the bluest lake and sitting right beside it was the usual dumpy passport control office.. unbelievable.  Dozens of huge trucks all parked at the side of the road cooling their engines and brakes after the huge climb through the mountains.

Words (or pictures really) can't describe the changing scenery as we wound our way down down down finalling arriving at sea level! -at the Chilean seaside town of Arica. ... and when looking at these amazing photos remember they were all taken out of a moving bus!!!. Imagine the shots that could be had if they could be taken properly...sigh... no.. double sigh...heee (and ohhhhh for the photos I missed cos the bus was going toooooooo fast......groan)

A late afternoon arrival and straight to the hostel which was run by a Kiwi who has married a Chilean and early 3 hour flight back down to Santiago.  This quick stop was no loss as its Chillean Independance day (which we found in reality runs for a week!.. but thats a story for the next entry.. Santiago)

So nothing more to say here... as the pictures below do tell the trip and it really was a spectacular ride!
