Mild, dull day but a lovely drive up a coast-hugging road to Westport.  Nothing memorable about Westport except very good egg, bacon, tomato and mushrooms.  Cape Foulwind has a lively seal colony.

Very sorry to be leaving Hokitika, nice small town with good craft shops and asuper beach of very hot black sand.

Great fun watching the 1600 milk train leave town, the tracks cut across the main rounabout that gives access to the town centre.  Coming out of a shop and seeing a 20,000HP diesel apparently heading straight at you can give you quite a funny turn, believe me dear!
