No way! City of beer! Loads of.
Besides all other things that attract tourist from all over the world, there's the beer.
Along with Belgium and Germany, the Czech Republic is the proud country of several (plenty) beer types.
For example, you must know the all-American Budweiser beer. News flash! It's not American!
You can google this info. Actually, do it right now so that you can read further on without any doubt in your minds.
The good ol' American nation, as we all know (or we can google) has a very nice history: people from all over the wold came here looking for... the dream. Or was it gold? Whatever!
The thing is that a couple of Czechs (?) came with some beer and the locals liked it so much, that they decided to make it a national symbol. For some people living there (the dream, of course), there's no Super Bowl without the traditional Budweiser beer commercial.
Now that I have your attention, let me detail about the actual experience here.
Everything is clean, nice and somewhat well organized.
People are tourist friendly and don't give you that odd look just because you're from somewhere else.
So what if you came here just to drink our beer, feel yourself at home and do have lots of fun!
Went into a bar/club and everybody was relaxed, minding their own business, having fun.
This is what night life is like here: FUN.
And this is only my first evening in this city, arriving in the late afternoon, after a hard week's work at the office.
Something tells me that I'll like Prague even more tomorrow morning when I can see it on day light.
Accommodation isn't that bad at all. After all, you're paying for 3***superior and getting a faded 5 star. What else would you want more, Scrooge?
I guess we can all make compromises and live with the fact that the staff doesn't speak English that well. But, if you come to think of it... how many foreign languges do YOU speak?
I can immagine this hotel in its glory days, before the big international chains got a bit of the action. Not to worry, the world known Intercontinental is just 10 meters away and things don't look much different than here.
So why worry about litttle details such as this, when you are here, in this magic city?
