The photos from the first two days are in the previous entry. Easy Rider like the film, same same but different. We headed to some local haunt for a munch with the lads Son and Hai our new cheufer's the night before we headed off so as to get acquainted. We just met them on the side of the road earlier that day and they were asking all the gringo's if they wanted to do Easy Rider. We had been thinking about it as all the reports we'd heart were good. Supposedly it's usually done in 5 days (the particular leg that we were going to do) at $50 US a day each = a lot of money. The lads said they'd do it in 4 for $185 US. A pretty fair deal I think. Basically the gist of the trip is that you hop on the back of the motor bike with your backpack tied to the bike behind you and away you go west into the highlands and then north into relatively remote areas. The lads do the trips all over the entire country and bring you to all the points of interest and give you some of the history. Our route was the most common one done by people. We ate our meals with them in the local haunts that they brought us to and slept in the same accommodation. We basically lived out of each others pockets for the few days but they were mighty crack and well up for a laugh. They knew their stuff too and really wanted us to get the most out of the trip. Their bikes were only 110 cc's which is measly and considering the distance covered, the weight of 2 people and a backpack on each, they did trojan work. We saw the real countryside along the way, the snaps show this perfectly. Only had one close call in the 4 days which aint bad considering the roads are used for a multitude of purposes like for cattle to sit and rest, to spread rice corn and coffee on to help it dry, to save hay etc etc etc.
