'Do nothing in Pai', like it says on your man's t-shirt. It's not that bad at all to tell the truth. Accommodation is getting cheaper the further north you go so like 2 euro each a night or there abouts and the food is pretty dam good too at about 4 euro for a steak dinner. Getting to Pai is via a very very windy road but there's some amazing views of the forests.. The best way to see what's on offer in Pai is to rent a moped for the day costing less than 2 euro, no helmet or insurance, and take off for a few hours. There's a canyon to see, hot springs to go to, elephant hang out gaffs and of course skit loads of temples and some waterfalls. One waterfall nobody seemed to be able to find even though they followed the map and went upriver for two and a half hours. Needless to say once we were told this we turned back and gave it a miss. The night life didn't seem to be the most vibrant but alas I can say for a change we didn't make it till silly o'clock in the only haunt that was opened in the town. I did get my first taste of some local brew here though, it'd knock the hair off ones chest!
