Cairns, a so called city with 120,000 pple, more of a town if you ask me. Nothing more than a handful of streets catering for all the tourist needs. The most exciting thing I did here was go for a splash about the manmade lagoon or was it go to the beach 40 minutes out side the city to work on my tan, hmmmm. There's no beach near the city just marsh. Ashamedly I didn't even go out to the great barrier reef, one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. This might be an excuse to come back sometime in the future when I have my padi open water diving course done and can get more out of such an excursion. I departed from my Indian buddy here after two ferocious nights in the 'woolshed', what a laugh. It's possible to go to the rain forest from Cairns and see some beautiful countryside up north but I didn't have the time.
