What's not to love about Nevada? Pahrump was our first intro to this state as we passed through headed for Vegas...
Dirt-cheap petrol - $3.32 per gallon, cheapest we'd seen yet!
Highest speed limit yet - 70 miles/hour
$3.99 for 1.5 litre wine
Slot machines at the petrol station
T-bone steaks for breakfast
40 deg in the day, 28 at night
Dead-straight, obedient hair in the dry desert heat
Laundry that dries in minutes, at night!
And it's too hot for mosquitoes ;)

We stopped off in Vegas for just one night enroute to the Grand Canyon. The Silver Prawn (as Olivier dubbed his rental car) was misbehaving, so we popped into Alamo for an exchange. That's when we started living the American dream.

The new car was a Dodge Challenger, an old school Mustang-shaped car that was cool to see and be seen in. It didn't have much power to back up its good looks and the smallish windows and low body wasn't ideal for sightseeing. But hey, it felt cool to drive, it attracted lots of attention with tourists randoming snapping pics of us (in it) and locals giving us the thumbs-up, saying "nice car!"

And so the adventures of the White Shark aka White Scorpion began...
(Rest of the Vegas pics when we return to Vegas)
