Don't mind us, just passing through...

...lala...feels so good to be on the road again...lala (to the tune of

Willie Nelson's classic)

We started feeling twitchy having pressed pause on our travels for 4

whole nights but our reward was glorious weather. As I punched the air

and shouted "Kap aan, driver!" one more time Mario whispered: "I hope

Mr T doesn't feel neglected".

The next stop of note was Hokitika. A small, funky town with the

highest number of greenstone galleries per capita. The highlights for

us were the local chippy that we frequented for 3 consecutive days and

the driftwood-strewn beach where we gathered said wood. We also

rounded up a few beachbum friends to accompany Stoney on the dashboard

but alas, no pretty Jade for him.

The sea was mesmerising - the strange muffled sound and huge, wild

waves that appeared near enough to crash into us. But I'm happy (and

alive!) to report that thanks to a massive dip in the sand, it didn't.
