This morning the boys played in the garden with the bat and ball and talked to the owner of our property, whilst the girls slept. Out for a sunny stroll to Sharks Cove and to pick up a few supplies. Having checked our wish list for North Shore this is the only place we are yet to experience, and since its only a five minute stroll from where we are staying, it has to be done.

Lunchtime had us in fits of giggles, Dylan has decided that since Taya is eating with her hands he would like to as well! Not ideal but hey ho. Emma asked Dylan to eat nicely and slowly, and he starts shovelling bread into his mouth, then a piece into each eye and each ear. Cheeky boy. It was one of those parenting moments when you know you are not supposed to laugh, but you just can't contain it.

Children's nap time = adult snorkel time. Emma first then Rich. Sharks Cove is one of the best dive and snorkelling sites on Oahu. Sadly, no diving for us this time round, so snorkelling it is. Equipped with fins, snorkel and mask from our rental property Emma trotted off up the road. The entry was a touch rocky and not too easy putting fins on with the waves lapping around but within two minutes Emma was thinking wow!, this is incredible and we would be more than pleased with this if it was a dive. Seconds later Emma felt a bump on her shoulder, thinking it was another snorkeler, oh no, it's only a lovely big green turtle coming to say hi. So cool. An excellent array of fish in all colours under the sun, including - parrotfish, chubs, surgeonfish, needlefish, tangs, unicorn fish, wrasse, angelfish, triggerfish, butterflyfish, seacumbers. Lovely shoals of little fish to swim through, and lots of turtles which we loved. The humuhumunukanukaapuaa is the state fish of Hawaii, a beautiful triggerfish, pronounced hooma hooma nooka nooka apooh ah ah, and we both found lots of these.

Emma returned home,  had a quick outdoor shower, if we live abroad we must have one of these, and swapped with Rich, so he could go and experience the same awesome sights.

Tonight's after dinner adventure must rank as one of Dylan's favourites. Not only did he see another lovely sunset at the beach, but tonight Dylan got to 'drive' one of the yellow fire engines that he loves at the fire station we pass most days. The fireman was lovely and even put all the lights on for him to see. Lucky little boy. On the way down the road Dylan asks what a group are doing. Rich tells him it's a beach party. On the way home Dylan asks to go to the beach party, so they do for a little while.

We will be sad to move on tomorrow to start our next big adventure on the west coast of America, but we hope to be back one day and explore the other islands too. Hawaii is fabulous.
