A little lie in this morning for all four Kemptons. 8am start, woo hoo! - we know, we know, but that's as good as it gets. Leisurely breakfast for the four of us in the restaurant. Emma tries coconut pancakes which are amazingly yummy.
The vast majority of today is spent swimming and playing in the pool with our water babies. Taya is loving kicking and splashing and lots of underwater swims. Dylan is getting better and better at actually swimming each day. He can happily do a couple of metres swimming independently now, which he likes to do again and again and again! We were just getting to linking the swims together by helping him up to breathe in between which was working well, when it got to Taya's bedtime. Can't wait to give it another crack tomorrow
We once again attracted much attention in the pool. One guy explained to us that it is not common in Sri Lanka to put their children in the water until aged 5 or 6 in case the children are frightened by it. So they may not have ever seen a baby in the water, especially not a blonde one. And Dylan leaping in from the side and swimming is quite a rare sight too.
We had an explore to the beautiful beach this morning. Truly stunning! The water is lovely and warm, but they say the current is too strong to swim in. It doesn't look it, but we take their word for it. There is a bridge over the lagoon to the beach, and on the way back Dylan's hat flies off into the water, cue successful rescue mission from Daddy in his boxers.
Lovely lunchtime nap for Emma, Dylan and Taya whilst Rich finally gets some time on the iPad with WiFi. Dylan spent a good hour today 'driving' two tuk tuks parked in front of our hotel. He was keen to take Taya for a drive too.
Dinner date again for the boys tonight
All a little pink round the edges from the sun, except amazingly Emma who has added significantly to the freckle count. Dylan has a really cute faint smattering of freckles on his nose and cheeks and Taya has finally started to change from milk bottle white.
Happy, playful, and restful day.
