Hi everybody! Ashley here to begin the tale of Italy.

The trip started off on a good note... until we sat on the tarmac in Baltimore for two and half hours. :/  Thank God for that five hours layover in Frankfurt or we probably would have missed our flight. Meeting up with Nancy and Carol went fine and we all ate in a little diner in the airport in Newark. Then it was off on our six hour and forty minute flight to Germany. Our plane was amazing. Touch screen, two-hundred some movies to pick from, games, music and in the armrest was a controller. Jessie watched Casablanca and played Solitaire. I admittedly watched How to Train Your Dragon, but didn't get to finish it yet  :(  I also played a game of checkers until the computer begin to play stupidly by moving to the same two spots no matter what I did.

Yes, the plane itself was fantastic...but earlier on while sitting in the gate, I was watching two girls my age making funny faces and taking pictures. It was awkward when they saw me, so, of course, I ended up sitting next to them on the plane. My luck.

A sleepless night later we arrived in Frankfurt without any trouble. Three hours later we hopped aboard a little plane for an hour long journey over the Alps and into Italy. We took a water taxi into Venice in beautiful sunlight and warmth. Despite the jet-lag, today we wandered up and down the street our hotel is on, had an orientation with the rest of our group and introduced ourselves and a tasty dinner consisting of "maccaroni" (yes that is how they spelled it) with cream and ham sauce, chicken with peppers/mixed veggies and topped off with some galato that we have yet to decide on what flavor it was. We're dead everyone so it's goodnight for now! Ciao!

BTW, "flug" means flight in German. Heard that word WAY too many times!
