We had a great morning at Erldunda Roadhouse.  The kids really enjoyed the kangaroo, emus, birds and the pet cat.  We bought some postcards at the roadhouse and were on the road at 10:30am.

We only had 250kms to drive so we knew it would be and easier day driving.  We stopped at the first big rock we saw to take a photo.  It was not Ulura but Mt Connor and not Ayers Rock.  We thought Mt Connor was big, but then Uluru came into sight.

We arrived at around 2:30pm and quickly set up the van.  We were all starving so we had pumbkin soup and toasted sandwiches for lunch, then off for a walk.  The kids found a fantastic playground and a boardwalk.  We all took off this afternoon along the boardwalk to take photos of that famous rock.

We all jumped in the car at around 5:30 to have a look at the sun going down over the rock.  The colours were amazing and the photos do not do it justice.  It is also an overcast day and we are told that when the sun is shining the colours are even more intense.

Jason has spoken to the ranger and they are suggesting that the rock will be closed tommorow for climbing.  A bit disappoining for us all, but we have decided to go and see the sun rise and then walk around the base.  If we do not get the opportunity to climb the rock in our two night stay we will change our itinery slightly and visit again on the way home.

We had dinner a bit later than usual and then all off to have showers.  We all have an early start tommorrow as we are going to have a look at the sunrise.

It Josh's birthday tomorrow.  What a day he will have, spending the day at Uluru.

Love to you all and thanks for your comments, we love hearing from you all.
