We started the day at 8:30am with the intention of getting petrol before we hit the road.  We headed out of Port Augusta along the Stuart Hwy for about 20 kms before we realised there was not a petrol station for about 160kms.  Jason tells me not to "stress", we have got fuel in the jerry cans.  I tried to use the walkie talkie radio the let Tim & Neet know we were runing out of petrol fast and the radio was flat as well.  So here we are in the middle of nowhere with no fuel or communication.  (our mobiles were out of range).  We ran out to petrol about 50kms down the track and still have 110kms to go on 40 litres.  Great!  My stress levels were very high to say the least.
We made it all the way to Pimba, which was the first fuel stop.  Jason's stress levels started to rise when he had to pay $1.51 for fuel in both tanks of the car.  He wouldn't refill the jerry cans though. I couldn't beleive we made it and of course Jason said "i told you we would make it, don't stress."

We saw plenty of wild Emu's and a Wedge tailed eagle eating road kill.  They are huge.

We stoped for lunch at a road side rest stop and have bits of everything.  It was yummy.

We only had 200kms to Coober Pedy.  Taya enjoyed doing her school work and Tash and Jess watched a movie.

Arrived in Coober Pedy at 4pm.  Found at site at the caravan park and set up in no time.  We (as in Jason & i) are getting good at setting up.  The kids are nowhere to be seen.

Jason and Tim cooked dinner in the camp kitchen and had a bit of a chin wagg with the other visitors.

Hey Girls, looks like fun. What about toilet breaks, is Uncle Jay stopping for you? School is going well, it's very quiet without you. I'm missing you. Archie and Bobby are fine. Love you from Kaylah

Hi Kaylie Girl, Uncle Jay has been very good and we have been having lots of toilet stops. The girls have been doing some of their school work in the car. The car drive has been a little bit boring for them so they have been happy to do school work. We are looking forward to getting to Ayres Rock. Hi Auntie Anne and Uncle Gary - We just meet some people who live or lived in Singleton for 26 years. The know the Fawell's and the Kiker families well they say. They also know the people who bought you old house. Her name is Anne Drinan? (i think). I was trying to remember so i could tell you. They have been traveling for about 2 weeks. I know we are doing a lot of Kms, but we have been trying to get to the NT so we can slow down and do a bit of exploring. We will be in the area for 6 days now having a look at Uluru, Kings Canyon and the West Macdonnell Ranges. Love you both heap - Sharon xxoo
