We arrive at Nha Trang at 6am, tired and dishevelled.
We were honoured to be on the sleeper bus with the World Snoring Champion, a small Vietnamese woman who kept us awake all night. She will surely retain her title for 2009!
Nha Trang is THE beach resort in Vietnam, its 6km of sandy coastline a mecca for tourists. We get off the bus to be greeted by torrential rain! Soon we're in the hotel, trying to dry off. The rest of the day is spent sat in various cafes trying to keep dry. We both start to read books....Where's Eastenders when you need them?
Through flooded streets we wade to the beach, determined to dip our toes into the South China Sea. The locals watch and laugh at the two mad English, in swimming attire, braving the monsoon.
We decide to leave Nha Trang the very next day. It's like Bognor in deepest winter, okay to pass through but not to stop at!
We catch the sleeper bus, checking the passenger list for any world champions.
