Well, after 4 months together in a small metal box it was inevitable that we would fall out at some point, and today was the day! After driving down to Northeast Harbor we had the most almighty row, which resulted in Mel deciding that she wanted to go to the airport in Bangor and fly back to the UK. And so we drove to Bangor.

It was a miserable journey in more ways than one. As well as the frosty atmosphere inside the bus, the weather on the outside was also quite bad as it was cold and overcast and at times we even had some rain. To really top things off, we pulled into a fuel station on the way to be faced with a moose on the back of a pick-up truck - a dead one! We had both really hoped to see a moose whilst in Acadia, but not like that.

After a couple of hours we arrived at Bangor airport, or to be more precise, a small shopping mall just next to it. After another round of arguments over who was going to stay and who was going to go, we eventually called a truce and set off back to Acadia, calling into Wal-Mart on the way for a few supplies.

By the time we arrived back at the campsite it was late afternoon, so we got ourselves settled back in and then made a fire outside in the fire ring. The day had been a bit of a disaster, but at least it ended nicely with dinner and a few drinks around the campfire.
