We had been due to check out today but upon getting out of the bus first thing, we discovered that we had an ant colony trooping around the exterior of the bus. There they were, carrying things up the ropes of the sun canopy, along the edge of the canopy, around the front of the bus, along the side of the bus.......everywhere! Realising that this was going to take a bit of dealing with Neil went to extend our stay by another night and when he mentioned the ants, they replied "Oh are they back again, we thought we got rid of them". Now when we checked in, they weren't even half full, so why they put us on a potentially ant infested pitch is beyond us. And so we didn't make any attempt at this point to pay for the extra night.

The morning was spent removing the ants and moving onto another pitch. The ones we were offered all had ants present and so we moved to the one next to ours which had been vacated this morning, as not only could we not see any there but the two Swiss guys that were camped there hadn't mentioned them.

After eventually getting some lunch, Neil chilled out in the bus for a couple of hours while Mel sunbathed and swam in the pool. As Mel got back to the bus, Neil had found more ants, and this time they were inside. So while Neil dealt with the ants, Mel went to the office to ask to be moved to one of the large concrete pitches away from where there was obviously a huge ant problem. And they only wanted to charge us full price, which for a big RV pitch like that was $60. Now most people know not to try a stunt like that on Mel. But not the stroppy mare in the office. And so after trying every argument in the book as to why we should pay full price, Mel got her down to half our small pitch price for a large pitch, which worked out at $15. When will people learn not to mess with Mel?

So after moving pitch and dealing with the ants a second time, we took our showers and then decided to go down the road for a Chinese takeaway, as none of the hundred or so in the area would deliver. And that's when we had our most bizarre Chinese takeaway moment ever.....they had never heard of prawn crackers!! How can a Chinese food establishment not have heard of prawn crackers????
