The only problem with parking under nice, shady Cottonwood trees is the sap. Chip was absolutely covered in it this morning. So while Mel packed everything away, Neil washed Chip. We finally left the campground around 11am with Neil back at the wheel, and stopped off in the town for a few groceries before heading south-east to the city of Great Falls. Here we stopped for lunch at the side of said "falls" before doing a complete circuit of the city looking for Wal-Mart. We eventually had to ask for directions when we stopped for fuel and it turned out to be not far at all from where we had stopped for lunch, right at the beginning of our circuit.

Fed, re-fuelled and re-stocked we headed south towards the Lewis and Clark National Forest, passing firstly through rolling grasslands before climbing up through mountains. And the sky kept getting greyer and greyer until eventually there was a tremendous downpour and we had to pull off the road to deal with some incoming water which was running from under the passenger seat. We were soon through it and arrived late afternoon at Kings Hill Campground where we broke out the kettle and biscuits. We know it's becoming a bit of a ritual but we've discovered a really nice variety of biscuit in Wal-Mart and we think we may be addicted! Neil investigated the bus to find the source of the leak and thankfully it's something that's easy to deal with. Just two small screw holes (not sure what they were previously used for) that weren't filled before the new seat stand mats were fitted. (Quel surprise!)
