After packing up and fuelling up we left Vegas around lunchtime and headed south towards Bullhead City. We were going to go back to San Diego to collect our documents which SDCVW (San Diego Classic Volkswagen) had promised to send to us in Vegas but never did, but decided to carry on with our trip and deal with that matter in a more formal way over the next week or so, as we don't trust SDCVW to send them anymore.

After stopping off to buy groceries and a camp-site guide we hit more long straight roads (did the Romans come this far?) It was really, really hot again and so we stopped off at McDonalds for an ice cream and a cool off in the air-con. On the back of the receipt was something we just have to share with you, regarding a prize draw for filling out an on-line survey:

"No purchase necessary. Open only to legal residents of the US and Canada (other than Province of Quebec), 15 years of age and older. In order to win, a Canadian resident must correctly answer a skill testing question."

Discrimination or what?!

Anyway, a little further on we crossed the state line into Arizona and arrived at a camp site at the base of the Davis Dam on the Colorado River. The water was beautifully clean and clear and cold, so we sat on our chairs with our legs in the river and cooled down with a few beers before cooking our steaks on the barbie (grill not doll)!
