After a leisurely morning at the campsite packing up, we eventually left around midday. The only problem with having such a nice looking bus is that everyone wants to chat to you about it. We were inundated with people this morning.
Not much further up the coast where it is quite rugged, we spotted dolphins in the Pacific. We stopped to watch them and take some photos, but unfortunately they haven't turned out too well as dolphins are rather quick.
We passed through Oxnard and Ventura where the main industry seemed to be agriculture and then through Santa Barbara before stopping in Goleta for lunch. North of Goleta the scenery began to change again and we passed through grasslands and rolling foothills with cattle ranches. The rolling foothills were replaced by the Santa Ynez Mountains before hitting the gentler hills again around Lompoc and the Vandenberg Air Force Base
We arrived in Santa Maria late afternoon and found an auto spares shop to buy a split charge relay in the hope that that would be the answer to getting our fridge working again. Thankfully it worked. We then parked up in Wal Mart and after checking that the management didn't object to us parking overnight we settled in, had our dinner and then turned in for the night.
