After breakfast, we went across to Wal-Mart. While we were there we received a text from Elizabeth to say the bus would be ready for collection at 12.30pm. However, as we knew that she had been left to hand-over the previous one on her own, we decided to ignore it until we heard from Jenna or Chris. We eventually got to speak with Jenna around 2pm and arranged to go up to the workshop for 5.30pm as Chris would have our Vehicle Registration documents by then as well. As it was hot and sunny today we decided to kill time around the pool until it was time to go. Sadly not quite long enough to have a dip in the pool. We arrived at the workshop to find Chris putting the newly upholstered back cushion inside - good sign. After another hour and a half checking things over and a keen bit of negotiating by Mel on the "extras", we finally pulled away in our new bus.

As he's a Californian bus, we decided to give him a name with a Californian connection At last!
At last!
. So after much deliberation, we have decided to name him "Chip". After the California Highway Patrol / one of Mel's favourite childhood TV shows!

Back at the motel, we got stuck into the cleaning and fixing for an hour or so before we lost the light and had to call it a night. After tidying up and showering we jumped in the bus and headed for a Pizza Hut. By the time we got there it was just after 11pm and although the door was open, they were closed! This is America, the 24hr society, and Pizza Hut is closed just after 11pm, and we're starving! After trying several other eateries with the same results, we finally pulled into a 24hr "Del Taco", a Mexican fast food chain, or a fast Mexican food chain is probably a better way to put it. A very tasty, very filling dinner, for less than $7 for both of us. Highly recommended!
