At last! We awoke to sunshine. After breakfast we set off to walk up to Chris's unit to check on the bus. Only two and a half miles, but as we all know, Americans don't walk anywhere. So we were met with some surprise from Chris and his sister Elizabeth. Elizabeth said that people on foot are considered to have either broken down and are walking to get help, or are loons. We think in their opinion we fit into the latter category! Our secondary mission for the day was to find a real food supermarket. Our mission was accomplished late afternoon, when we discovered "Food 4 Less" very close to the motel but just the other side of the freeway. Mel could hardly contain her excitement; in fact a few squeals of delight were heard. Fresh bread, fruit, vegetables, meat, a deli counter and lots of choice for the zillions of other items available.
Tomorrow will be the first day since we've been here that we have nothing that must be done and nowhere that we have to go. Excellent, a lie-in!
