Where I stayed
He dropped us off at a place where I think the photo accurateley depicts it as prison style. What the photo can't show you is the noises coming from next door that made it feel more like we were in a bad place.
We headed out to see the town which, in fairness, looked like it may have been really nice at one time and could be again with a bit of dosh spent on it
The reason we were here was to get a once weekly flight to La Paz via Santa Cruz and avoid what the Lonely Planet ominously describe as the "death train" and a couple of long bus journeys by some crazy drivers.
Oh, and as the heading suggests this is also where most cars that are stolen in Brazil end up, on route to the more populated areas of Bolivia. In town more than half the cars have had there registration plates removed.. Uhm, I wonder why?
