The Wedding

Sound track: Rage Against the Machine Killing in the Name

I'll update my missing emails of my last week in Brazil and my mini European tour of friends, family and stadia

The big reason to be in Europe. Ellie (my sister) was throwing a little shin dig. As you may have guessed by the title of this latest update it was in fact something more than a little shin dig it was a fucking great shin dig. She was getting married to Dan a completely awesome and cool fireman. It became obvious almost as soon as the family met him that he was very good for Ellie and someone everyone liked. I say it became obvious because Dan is a vergsexul. No he doesn't have sex with Veg he just won't eat meat. Anyway dispite his afore mentioned disability Dan it like lest I say loved by My Dad , my Brother (Bob) and Me. Each one of us has a passionate distate towards Veggies. Don't forget Hitler was a Vegisexual and he wasn't very nice.

Right so we went down for the wedding 2 days earlier, for Dan's birthday we went out for a Lebonese meal with all of Dan's family. What I found highly amusing was that my brother and I weresat as far away from anyone as possible with Mum and Dad as a buffer and Ellie to drown us out as soon as the conversation became vulgar. Which I think only happened on 2 occasions which is a record low for Bob and I. At the end of the meal they tried to charge us for an extra tables food but Shylock (Bob) noticed so that extra 93 pounds was removed from our bill. Cheeky fuckers.

The day before the wedding or Wedding Eve as I like to call it gave me time to get a hair cut and get some UV rays to maintain my beautiful Brazilian tan. I went to a salon with my mum and sister and gayed out with a trim and a sunbed. Go me.

That night brought about something of a massive rareity. That night was the first time in about 28 months that the 5 of us had been in a room alone together. Bob cooked dinner which was delightful, especially the parsinp puree. It was a great night as it was probably the last time in a very long time that we will all be in the same room together apart from skype calls.

The day of the wedding was fantastic we found our hotel eventually after using the directions given to us by AA which were completely wrong. We then went out for a few pints with the groom the best man and some other old friends. After that it was back to the hotel for a shower a shave and put strap in. After an hour or so of getting ready we were all ready. We were headin' for a weddin'.

To add to how emotional I was on the day the feeling of even minor responsibility made me a little nervous. All I had to do was put the music on at the 3 queues provided. At the start from ambiant music including, Always look on the bright side of life amongst others. I did that ok then came the time for the Bridal march. Feeling Good (the Muse version) what a tune and what a choice. She arrived at the Wedding Table thing just after it kicked in oh it was perfect. The ceremony was great. With Rusty and Elouise do a reading amd Emma doing a poem. The vows were as at any wedding massivley soppy but of course lovely (and gay).

The next music queue was not one I had been prepared for the registrar said, as they were signing the certificates and shit, to put some music on. I was at a loss. I had one more CD and thay was to be used as people were leaving. I paniked and asked what to put on. Mum said the entry ambient CD which seemed like a good idea. Obviously I didn't want the guests to hear track one again so I skipped to track two. Which was remembr the document are literally being signed at this moment in time. On came........ Bring your daughter to the Slaughter. Opps Nice work Harry. Dan called me over and asked for the exit music to be played. So I did. REM End of the world as we know it.

It was a great ceremony. I was then asked to get people for photos my second responsibility of the day.The photo list was cut short. I'm not taking the blame for that though it was far to ambitious and a logistical nightmare with 130 people in a room. We took more photos a little later at the reception which we walked to along the river to the venue. It was a lovely clear day and pretty warm in my dashing attire. I will point out at this point I was only the 3rd most attractive and stunning looking person there after my New Brother and Sister. It's not often I'll accept second place let alone third. The reception was fantastic. I was sat on a table with my Dads side of the family and friends from Northampton. These others were some of our dearest family friends John and Marie Dickie. I had once aspired to be just like John one day. I feel in some ways I am close but other targets are I think a little out of reach. If i'd concentrated my efforts into growing out rather than up I might be close. It was fantastic to see them both after so long. Guy and Fiona West, Our old next door neighbours both of whom I adore for one reason or another. My Dad reminded me of something I'd said to him when I was about 14. Fiona used to really wind me up by flirting outragously with me. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed it a lot. Now here is an image of how big my ego was even when I was 14. I said to my Dad. "Fiona is nice and all but I couldn't do it to guy, he's my best mate." Hahaha what a joker. Even I'd choose Guy over me he's a legend.

The meal was good, the wine was tasty and the speeches were funny. Dan's was a little vegesexual if you know what I mean but I can forgive that on his wedding day. Ellie did a poem which included me so I was happy, Dads speech also involved me and my brother. Tim, the best mans speech didn't involve me in the slightest but it did make me laugh an awful lot. So I'll forgive him.

After dinner and desert it was time for the first dance. Now as I'm sure you can tell by now Dan and Ellie aren't the most traditional of people especially when it comes to music. But this first song for me really kicked off the whole wedding it was sublime and fantastic all rolled into one.

They had chosen Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine. Now anyone who reads these updates on a regular occasion will realise myself and my brother are completely in love with Rage Against the Machine as are most people in the world with at least half a brain. We joined them after about 20 seconds and the whole place rocked out so hard I thought it was going to cum. A baby even joined us on the dance floor which made it even better for me and he clearly enjoyed it. The track has yet again inspired me to listen to that album over and over again because its so go. Only this time I had to listen to track 2 a few times before moving on. The band were good, the bar was great and everyone had a really good time. Seeing the likes of my Nan and great aunt both busting their moves on the dance floor. My and Dad, Auntie and Uncle everyone was dancing. It was plane to see my Dad is clearly the giver of rhythm in our family as neither me nor Bob can dance.

At 02:00 it became time to leave and the hard core youngns Me Bob and an assortment of cousins went to the Casino and hotel bar before going to bed at 05:00. It was a fucking great night an unforgettable day and just a superb wedding all in all.
